WORK
WITH US

We partner with foundations to strengthen the fundraising capacity of their grantees, fostering powerful connections in service of movement building and preparing social justice organizations to sustain their work long-term.

For example, from 2021-2022, ChangeRaisers trained 30 of the 49 grantees in the Ready to Rise Initiative, a $38+ million public-private partnership between the California Community Foundation, Liberty Hill Foundation and the Los Angeles County Probation Department supporting youth development nonprofits focused on diversion and prevention versus punitive measures.

In 2024, we trained eight Ms. Foundation for Women grantees, across their Activist Collaboration and Care, Birth Justice Initiative, Girls of Color Initiative, and Ms. South portfolios.

The Changeraisers Approach

The ChangeRaisers curriculum fills a gap in the field of nonprofit fundraising training, addressing the specific challenges facing nonprofits working for social change through training, personalized coaching, and peer-to-peer learning.

Our comprehensive program gives organizations the skills, confidence, and team culture to raise money sustainably.

  • Nonprofits participate in cohort-based training, coaching sessions to tailor the learnings and peer-to-peer engagement. This work yields an actionable plan and a supportive community of peers.

  • Our founders, trainers and coaches are seasoned nonprofit professionals with experience in startup organizations to multi-million dollar nonprofits. Our team has held positions as community organizers, program directors, executive directors, board members and senior fundraising professionals.

  • Cohorts include staff and board members from up to ten organizations. Our curriculum encourages collaboration across organizations and our coaching sessions deepen team building and improve fundraising culture.

  • Because fundraising is a team sport – and fundraiser turnover is a crisis in our field. Including junior and senior fundraisers as well as CEOs, Board Members, Program, and Finance Directors strengthens an organization’s overall fundraising muscle and is a best practice in improving fundraiser - and donor - retention.

  • Our three-to-six-month programs present a slate of strategic tools that are ‘right-sized’ through the coaching sessions – some strategies can be implemented immediately, and others adopted as capacity grows. Beginning with in-depth, data-centered work sets the stage for organizational sustainability.
